Everyone down for the summer?

I don't know how you guys do it down there... My wife called me while on her way to Texas, it was 112 in Needles, Ca.
I took some winter vaca in Palm Springs in Nov 2017. It was 85 still. Water slides were 'closed for winter'. WHAT?

One of the guys in Phoenix a week or so ago showed a pic of his truck thermometer and it said 120.
He said some of that might be off the pavement and I said it didn't matter where it was coming from, as that's just hot.
 
Its hot here, 3rd week of off and on "intense heat warnings" about 85-101 in the day depending on how far you are from the beach. Contrary to popular belief, all homes in So. Cal dont have A/C so the kids room got the window unit and we got the roll-away but it stays in the living room as thats where the window vent is. So yeah, were warm at night. Add to that is this fire we got brewing about 18 miles from us that looks like a nuke went off behind a mountain, huge mushroom cloud. Wife and kid saw orange flames from the freeway but its burning away from us into the forest and we are in an urban area.
 
103 here in Lewiston Id, 72 where I'm sitting in my living room right now. 109 tomorrow , yippee !
maybe I'll go fishing on the clearwater river tomorrow and have a seat in the water for a bit. soak in some sun. lol

My hat is off to ya..
I heard a monsoon moved in any flooded you guys.. guess you gotta take the bad, with the bad.

We finally dipped back into the mid 90's here in NorCal... All of the smoke from the fires has blocked the sun and kept the temps down. Visibility is only about a mile in some places..
 
113 today in Lewiston. but it's a dry heat. ya right !

Monsoons, haboobs, it's just a little wind and rain:D
Coming from central ny state.... ill take it over months of freezing my *** off:p
 
Ahhh, the "cooler" weather is almost here... Last night (8-11-18) @ Mixteca (Bell & 67th Ave) a number
of A-bodies showed up...

Ca central valley is supposed hit 3 digits AGAIN for the next few days...
But not me! Drove up to Sausalito this morning. It's 70° w/ 15mph wind. think I'll take a nap under a tree..
 
I'm not down for, I'm down from the summer. Its been a Hot Hot summer in SoCal.
Bring on fall.

Fun so far...Just a pesky leak at speedo gear hub...and a quicker 1-2 shift than id prefer...
Pretty pleased overall.
A/C conversion coming before next summer :steering:
