Well I Guess it is time I started a build thread on my 68 dart. Yawn Dart will have to suffice until i come up with something more clever/better.

I bought it off Facebook. Was given a timeslip of a 13.55 @101 mph with a 2.02 60'

I figured right off based on the 60' there was free/cheap power somewhere in this car.
Motor is a .60 over 360 with KB 10.5-1 pistons.
Stock 71cc heads come xe274h cam, electric water pump long tube headers, holley 600cfm 2600 stall, 8.75 rear with Yukon axles and 4.56 gears, vacuum secondary 600cfm holley with a dual plane mopar m1 intake.

For the first trip out I replaced all the tires. Backs were 28x9x15 MT slicks and the fronts were 195x15 l. I also added a edelbrock airgap rpm intake and a 750dp quickfuel brawler carb. Best pass was a 13.29@101 with a 1.94 60'. Needs work. At the end of the pass temp was 230* and the best I could stall it to was about 2100

Spent tonight fitting the super stock hood I got off
Of Facebook with some custom jailbars I made, and installed the transbrake switch on the steering wheel, also made one collector extension based on feedback I got here. I'll finish the other one tomorrow.

Going out friday with the super stock hood, my jet kit, and a full reverse manual trans brake valve body. Hoping for 12.70's "ish"

Like the car but isn’t it a valiant?

750 will work but it is too big. IMHO

Cool post car btw

Tape on headlights a speed secret I don’t know about?

LOL no, I own a 71 valiant 4 door also. this is just a 68 dart post car.

.5 in the quarter going to a 750. And I think I still need bigger jets on the main jet.

the tape Well I think I like the way it looks but this is from google.
According to one of the posters there, the "X" is a tape or adhesive that's placed there in order to make cleanup of the shards in the event the glass breakseasier. Tracks used (still? No idea) to require racers to tape up their headlights and rear lights before racing for this purpose.

You picked up .08 on 60ft. Thats .5 on the big end. Guarantee that's not carb related.

well i'm not ASE master certified mechanic but the car runs better with the 750dp than it did with the 600. only other thing I changed was the intake but they are both good single planes so I doubt its that. Like I said i'll get a baseline with the valve body and collectors and then i'll start working the jets and watch the MPH. i'll report back if I never beat his 101mph on the timeslip he gave me.

I don't think the 750 is too much carb. That's what I run on my 360 as well.

Tell every carb manufacture thats has all the info on carb cfm requirements a 750 is the one. You guys really need to look that stuff up.

Will the car run with a 750 sure, is it the best probably not.

Well.... My little junkyard 360 has run 7.47 @ 90 MPH in the 1/8th with a perfect air fuel ratio all the way down the track. That would make for a high 11 second 1/4 pass.

Over carbed? Nope. The charts online told me to run 600 CFM. I'm just glad I listened to knowledgable people on here instead of those bullshit charts.

Street only, 600 would be fine. Drag racing, not so much.

The converter is probably not helping the 60'.
4.56 is a lot of gear for the cam you have. What was the trap RPM? Did the front end drop when you let off on the big end? What rear tire diameter? I hope it's at least 27" or 28"
750 works better on my car after timing curve and AFR was dialed in.
Keep tuning what you have and once you are dialed in and consistent you can make educated changes to drop et.
Have fun with your car, I love my Post Sedan!

28" slicks, trap rpm is about 5800

No, a 2-door Dart "coupe", or 2-door sedan as some people call them.
Ok I’m at a loss it looks like a 2 dr post valiant but it’s a dart ? Sorry to be dumb here but the sun is getting to me...say again

They made 2-door Dodge Dart sedans, the doors & roof are the same as a Plymouth Valiant.

Trans brake is in, Man its awesome! Hits like a 5mph rear end accident! Heading to the track tonight for some test-N-Tune

Car actually stalls all the way to 3k now!

Ok just got home. Didn't get to run much tonight so I only managed a few jet changes before my switch running my water pump burnt up. My best was only 13.20 @ 100mph my 60' is killing me (.193). On the trans brake I can stall it up to almost 3000' as soon as a launch it jumps but acts like it doesn't have enough power to carry it through, you can see in the video the front raise and come back down before the car really starts pulling hard. I know I still have a lot of tuning to do but do you guys have any thoughts?

750 quickfuel brawler, that pass had 78 primaries and 81 mains 700' elevation
