1967 383 complete A body motor

pre 69 cars did not have vin number stamped on the block. motor is identified by the sequence number stamped on the top back of the block where the trans mounts, right on the rim. it was also stamped on the trans next to it. you would need a fender tag or build sheet from the car match it to the vin number. I just thought you pulled it from the car or knew for sure what it came out of.

if you knew all of this, thanks for letting me bend your ear.

He does know what it originally came out of. An original big block A body. Those are the only blocks with the motor mount ear not cast in and the front motor mount bosses drilled and tapped. That makes it an A body specific engine. That narrows it down pretty good in my book.
