Here is a video of my 64 as we were tuning after sitting for a few years.
make sure those flanges dont leave the bottom of 340/360 exhaust ports exposed. I was burning gaskets out monthly and finally figured it out. There was a 1/4" gap between the bottom of the header port "O-ring" and the bottom of the head port. 273/318 sized flanges for sure.
yo, Clif: Whats up with the right hand drive alternator mount? My old 63 Valiant.... 340... Fender well headers... View attachment 1715209197
I will check that today, and get back here to you with picturesmake sure those flanges dont leave the bottom of 340/360 exhaust ports exposed. Well, for starters... Ever notice how crowded the fuel pump side of the engine side is... (Just saying)... Well, since the Battery is in trunk... I moved the Accel Alternator to take that big empty spot the Battery left... giving me more room for my Large Cool Can... And a more direct path to that hungry 850 Double pumper mounted on the Tarantula... Yes, electric fuel pump back at the fuel tank, performance mechanical up front .. (Push - Pull fuel system) with all 3/8 lines with less complicated bends/turns... And that's why the Alternator is on the Other Side !!!yo, Clif: Whats up with the right hand drive alternator mount?
Any news on those ports? or did I get a bad batch...I will check that today, and get back here to you with pictures
, thank you.
I have driven a members 340 4 speed 66 Valiant and looked his over good, I ordered hooker super comps and pre fit them here at home, I really need to get on computer and do this.
But for now let me give you what I have.
@66340SEDAN has the Valiant so I hope he can jump in here soon.
He cut his inner fenders just like this and has been beating on that fast 4 speed 340 for over 9 years on the street and in burn out boxes. I will get all the info I have tomorrow morning (that's the time I am usually on her)
