This is a complete from carb to oil pan correct motor engine. This has not been apart and runs perfect. Includes the rare A body exhaust manifolds. All parts date code are correct. Factory chrome valve covers. Has boss holes drilled for left motor mount and missing ear in casting. No vin stamped in block (not done in 67) . Also have 727 that was attached for sale. Asking 3k

No not broken ,manufactured that way. They only use front mount ears and two bosses on left side a body mounts. It identifies this is a true A body 383 and not a B,C body 383

dart or cuda?
I actually took it out of a truck.(notice truck mounts) Previous owner said it was from 67 gts dart . No vin stamp to verify. It's just has clean pad where vin would go so nobody could contest originality 330 hp motor

pre 69 cars did not have vin number stamped on the block. motor is identified by the sequence number stamped on the top back of the block where the trans mounts, right on the rim. it was also stamped on the trans next to it. you would need a fender tag or build sheet from the car match it to the vin number. I just thought you pulled it from the car or knew for sure what it came out of.

if you knew all of this, thanks for letting me bend your ear.

He does know what it originally came out of. An original big block A body. Those are the only blocks with the motor mount ear not cast in and the front motor mount bosses drilled and tapped. That makes it an A body specific engine. That narrows it down pretty good in my book.

just wanted to know, dart or cuda and maybe you know this, were exhaust manifolds the same between the two?

damn rusty I swear that avatar is hounding me.

I believe 383 a body exhaust are the same but 69 440's are different. Just remembering this from an article

The exhaust would look like this after 50 years of never being off engine and bead blaster. This is a true survivor.

OK !! we got it , lets stop the chit chat here please, this is a for sale thread, .. Thank you..

if its the matching trans to the motor the sequence number would be stamped on top of the bell housing right next to the same number stamped on the block. why don't you post a picture of these numbers and put this all to rest.

There are NO sequence numbers anywhere on rear of block or matching location on transmission. This is and early production 1/30/67 and might not of began sequencing till later

Are you sure? ""2801543"" says correct for 2 barrel carb...'67 GTS/Form-S would be 4 barrel only.
That's what the numbers are but I've known mopar to use parts from different things to fill quotas(six.pack bottom ends in station wagons)
