Hello All,
Anybody have any solutions to the brake light pedal switch? Mine is the 2 wire at the back
Of switch and it clips in to a bracket below the brake pedal, there is no adjustment on this and some times the switch will oo shoot to the side thus leaving the lights on, they don't seem to hold up for ****!! I've tried NAPA advanced auto but all seem like garbage quality does anyone make an adjustable one ??
Thanks to All in Advance!
Mitch

Modern parts stores generally don't know squat. You have to find the "one guy" (or girl!!) who knows their stuff. There is an ADJUSTABLE one that should be listed, I don't know the part no. Get the parts people off their *** and away from the computer and get into the PAPER "illustrated guide." In fact you used to be able to download the NAPA one

I cant speak to 69 but the 67 switch IS adjustable. On the passenger side of the brkt that the switch is attached to there is a single bolt. loosen that and the braket slides forward and backward.

the video is too funny but it shows what Im talking about even though he is talking about B-body

My dad thought the brake pedal was not returning correctly because the brake lights would stay on, so he added a return spring. the brake lights turned off for sure then but there was 2 inches of travel before the brakes engaged. When I got the car I found the spring and promptly removed to. when the brake lights stayed on I figured the switch was bad or needing adjustment. and lo and behold I found the bolt and adjusted the switch. No more issue.

Of switch
Is your existing switch the OE switch?

my bet is this is the type of switch you should have. (unless the connector on your wiring harness has a connector designed to mate to a 2 pin switch)
Snap in. one pin on the back and one on the side. ( keep in mind Im guessing here but why would mopar change something that standard from one year to the next)

The original switch on my 69 had the plastic plunger start to wear out which had it slide off to the side. Replaced it with the one pictured by "Dana67Dart" plus it is adjustable by the screw on the side of the pedal housing.

I'll replace it and look for the bolt

Thanks 67
I tried that one before NG. I have to use the pop in one and adjust it with the bolt. The video shows it all now just to get my fat arse in there
Thanks

take out the front seat. 4 bolts and you have all the rome in the world. Also you might need to bend the zinc plated bracket a bit to keep the switch lined up properly.

Good luck
