I have changed my mind and I don't think I want to stuff the 440 into this car. If anyone is interested I'll sell it for 1000 cash. I have decided to locate a E or B body. This is a 318 AC car was Gy8 in color. Missing all the glass and regulators. Or make an offer. Steering column was not in the car during these pictures but is in the car now. The steering wheel is in decent shape. No title.. Bill of sale only. In Georgia thats all that is required.

Engine and trans are in the car. The engine fired up but I would probably plan on rebuilding it. All the original seats are in the car as with the door panels and the rear panels. Full set of rally wheels. No rear bumper but has the front bumper and grill. I actually have 2 grills. If interested or want to see specific pictures let me know.

I stated that it doesn't have a title. In Georgia it only needs a bill of sale. Thats what i got when I bought it.

More pictures.... Sway bar is in the trunk, lots of small parts in a milk crate in the trunk. The trunk pan is in pretty decent shape. The passenger side front pan has a patch but not sure what it looks like under the patch. Rear floor is flaky rust but solid. Frame rails are in great shape. It also has no tank but do have the filler tube and one strap.

Wasn’t sure if they were standard by 1972 but took a picture anyhow. They are manual disc brakes. Most of the old b body stuff I work on has drums so figured it was a good thing.

Either it's a 72 somebody swapped a lot of stuff on, or it's a 73. It has the 73 and up brakes and the 8.25 rear axle.

@Bighead440

I posted the Vin and the fender tag as well. I decoded it as a 72. As far as what has been swapped I have no idea. All of the sheet metal besides the front fenders are the same gold. If some people could be more helpful instead of being sarcastic dip ***** it would be more useful. As I stated I don't know A body cars so any of these things that were pointed out are news to me. The doors are vent window doors and last I checked they stopped the vent windows in 72 and 73 introduced the full side glass. So the doors are the original doors to the car. It has a build date of November 18 so you decide if the car used disc brakes from 73 and the rear end from the 73 but used the body from a remaining 72? Late in the year build date for sure.

I appreciate the info RustyRatrod you are helpful.

I will check the trunk lip and the core support to verify that the body matches the dash.. I think it may be possible that the rear seat back has never been removed.. It may contain the build sheet. I hope so.

I "GUESS" it's possible a late 72 came through with 73 suspension stuff......I've never seen it......not that that means a thing. LOL It sure wouldn't surprise me. That's a lot of car for the money either way.

The build sheet was not behind the back seat. Anywhere else they put them in the old a bodies? Over gas tank would be a guess but that’s not in the car. Possibly the front seat bottom?

The '72 production year began in early August of '71 and went to July of '72.
Your car is a mid November built car, so it's scheduled build date is roughly in the first 1/3 of the production year.
So, it's a given that big bolt pattern stuff wasn't available for the '72 model year A-Bodies let alone 8 1/4 rear ends, we can deduce that it was installed at a later date and wasn't factory original to your car.
If the car has the original driver's door on it, there should be a grey and black sticker on the door itself by where the door latches to the door jamb striker that has the V.I.N. on it and the month and year of production, G.V.W. etc...........
Does it have any of this info?
Just trying to help you with the sale............

Here are the tags you are correct the build date was 11/71 not 11/72 as I was thinking. What rear end is this it has no drain plug in the back which has me a little confused.

I have access to a couple Barracuda doors.. Will the interior door parts work in this car? LIke regulators vent windows locks and what not.. They are either 67,68 or 69 doors.

Took some more pictures cleared out the trunk so you can see the pan. Smallish hole near the center of the spare tire well. And a few pictures of the parts that came out of the trunk.

I would change the title of this thread to 72 Scamp instead of the 72 Valiant. Because in most people's mind when they see 72 Valiant they think 4door and keep on scrolling. Most people are looking for a two-door, in this case this Camp. You might get more leads that way

Apparently I cannot edit the post at least not from my phone. I will try when I get home. Thanks to who ever changed it.
