Hello could someone advice me on the best way to secure top section of my tunnel ram ?
I purchased these blind carb studs and could use loctite with flat washer and nylon nut .
Or use the bolts shown
Or I could even buy bolts with holes and use safety wire ??

I think the studs are a good idea. I’d just use grade 8 flat washers, lock washers, and nuts with red lock tite. Make it tight and check them periodically untill your confident they are staying tight.

I like your idea but a partially split lock washer scares me could I eliminate the lock washer and use a flat washer with stud and nylon nut ??

I don’t see a nylon nut holding on in that type of application. Split lock washer is a good thing, just use a new one so it does it’s job. If it makes you feel any better, my cross ram has 14 bolts inside the manifold..

WOW thats alot
Ok thank you

Nylon nut (nylock) is not all nylon, its a steel nut with a nylon undersized bushing crimped to the top. Its only there to increase the friction on the threads, the nylon does not do any clamping. Torque bolt with locktite, I'd not want a nut in there. done deal.

I would not use a nylock. The fuel could eat the plastic and cause it to come loose. If you use a nut get aircraft "D" nuts. They dont rely on plastic, instead they have a slightly oval hole in the center.

I use a bolt with a new lock washer and blue lock tight. The red lock tight is super strong and should be a one time use for a permanent installation.
(Main cap bolts, rod ends, etc....)
IF you need to separate the intake half’s, it will be a major pain to separate with possible damage to the threads. The blue is strong but easier to separate.

I think i used a headerbolt and some blue loctite on my Edelbrock tunnelram, hate the way it looks but never worried much about it.
If i ever put that tunnelram on somehting again i will probably use hexhead countersunk bolts and countersink the heads and alitle blue loctight for insurance
