Greetings!

My 69 Barracuda project (factory 318 4 spd) came with a 4 speed transmission (date stamped late 1970) in the trunk.

My crossmember is there, and I have a couple of mounting bolts and metal ‘brackets’ on the bottom of my freshly rebuilt trans. The problem is, I can’t tell from the manual exactly how the trans mounts up, or if I’m missing any mounting components.

It looks to me like I’m missing a crossmember bolt on each side (no big deal to get), but more importantly, do I need the piece that I circled in my manual (for All 1969 models)?

Anybody have a drawing/diagram of how the mounting works? I’d like to have it planned out BEFORE the trans goes in.

Thanks!

Yes, that's the transmission mount. It goes between the crossmember and the transmission. 65'

It's just over $5 at Autozone or Oreilleys
I have seen those real low priced transmission mounts listed at the local part stores and at Rock Auto. They to me they are a little scary cheap as far as price goes. Are they any good?
It seems that the only other option is to buy one of the $50 urethane ones.

Also note the "Bend Tab 90 degs" in the FSM illustration to lock the mount in the cross member. I have wonder how many bends can that tab take before it breaks or something?

Saw that and wondered the same thing.
