Stop in for a cup of coffee

The more I am thinking about this screw it treat it like a 6K car and be done with it. Prob going to have to buy Stan out! So much for a quick flip!
What is on the odometer? You said something about records...what chya got?

Good Morning

aw man, they found that missing jogger from Iowa, dead. SOB. Freaking evil people.

Nice to see you are paying attention, but it was a rhetorical question -while I await a response from Hoppy about the mileage records. I did miss how much he paid for it though...
i think it was 2500 but i could be wrong

ssssh its a secret, im always paying attention, i just play dumb at times to make you all feel better

Fox news just reported that the body of Molly Tibbets has been found. You may have heard about her disappearance a few weeks ago. Sad news but at least it will be closure for the family and friends. I couldn't imagine a loved one disappearing and never found.

Even if he can prove 6K, is that car 'special' enough to justify a '100 point' resto? I see stupid high asking prices made up by people with Barrett Jackson glasses. But does anyone actually sell them?
He mentioned floor pan. That's not an easy repair to achieve 100 point results. For that matter any of the sheet metal. Wouldn't that require either FULL panel or perfect butt welds?
My car is not even close to that level and I have $10K in it with me doing all the work. What are realistic sale prices for that car done either 'good' or '100' . Even getting in low I rarely see anyone make money restoring. It's the clean up and glue job paint that seems to bring the best ROI. Not saying that is the way to go. I think he should build it for Marilyn and get rid if the Firechicken. Would definitely class up the driveway @halifaxhops

i'd leave it as a survivor/ original. its worth more than way. I've heard this said before and i dont recall where i heard it, but for every point on the restoration score card, figure 1000-1500 bucks.

The 68 Road Runner I restored scored 92 points at the Nats, in 2013. I only got 50K for the car when I sold it..WTF ??? LOL

While it is a great car for it's age, Unfortunately it is not in good enough shape as a survivor. Biggest problem is it was painted. I would definitely take it back to original as he plans to do. Just at a level a little higher than I did mine. Not trying to do the 100 point thing.

It will cost $35K+ to do a car nice. Forget the 100 point thing. I have 15k in my 66 and it looks like this and it's a long ways away from being done.

very true. Problem is its a 64 slant 6 barracuda. Very hard to put a value on those. its not a high desired car, nor any high dollar options. Its a nice car for its age. He got a steal for sure. If he does it to flip, i dont think he'd make his money back.

Yep,
I know he would do a lot of his own work. Get Chuck to paint it, etc. But Hoppy knows what what it takes to put out a 100 point distributor. Now translate that to every part on the car.:eek::eek:
I hope to build another car someday, but I will probably do a 'freestyle' so I don't need to sweat the details.

yep. build it the way you want. 100 point cars have their place, but not for me.

So Hoppy got another Barracuda? We are not talking about the rust bucket I saw, are we?
