Supercuda's on the way back...after18 years!

Hey Guys,

Just an update on Supercuda's break-in progress...

Ran into a few more electrical issues including an orange box that failed (big surprise LOL ) , Replaced it with a Blue 7500 Hi-Rev unit . Found out all about matching the proper coil and ballast resistor as coil voltage with a cold Dual connector Ballast resistor dropped to 3.5 volts and car ran lousy. Switched to Mopar Hi-performance coil and .8 ohm single ballast resistor and it works great! now 6.5 volts at coil cold and 8.5 hot.

Also ran into a self inflicted problem with the Air cleaner assembly. I wanted to run a stock unsilenced 13 " air cleaner assembly on the Magnum engine to give it an early LA engine look but it was too high with the Airgap intake and holly 770 Avenger carb so I used an aftermarket lower profile base plate to drop it for hood clearance. Problem was that there was very little clearance to let air into the carb at the underside of the top assembly so I was choking off the engine when I got on to the accelerator . This resulted in a foul running engine that ruined the plugs . Lucky for me, Mancini Racing makes a proper base plate for my engine combo that drops the air cleaner just enough to clear the hood. See below.

This worked perfectly and cudo's to Mancini who took less than a week to get to me here in Eastern Canada
in approximately 7 days via USPS !! My Canadian sources couldn't do it that quick!

Anyway, hope this is of help to someone else.

Now... back to driving and sorting the car out.

Cheers!!
