I’ve been a member since 2009 (well that’s what the system says, but I’m sure it’s been longer than that). I used to be on here way before that, but maybe I never posted until 2009... Anyway, I just sold my 2009 Cadillac CTS-V and decided that instead of buying a new hot rod to replace it, I would finally give some more love to my ‘69 Barracuda. I’ve had the car forever... basically since I was a teenager and its moved all around the Midwest and south with me over the past 25 years and its even done a couple of Hot Rod Power Tours, but honestly it really hasn’t seen much road time over the years... which explains why it has just over 60k miles on it. I’ve always had other cars to drive and other toys to play with and the older this car got, the less exciting it has become to drive, especially compared to the late model muscle we have now.

But that said, my youngest daughter has always loved the car, so I’m wanting to make it more fun and reliable (yes, both at the same time) so I am actually tempted to take it out more often and eventually get her behind the wheel in it. This car is a family heirloom (bought new by my great-great uncle in 1969/70), so it will eventually be passed on to the next generation, assuming we’re still burning fossil fuels in 7 years (which I think is a pretty safe assumption).

I’m starting with Holley EFI and some updated suspension stuff. It already has aftermarket front disc brakes (need power assist, though) and some minor engine mods (heads, cam, headers, MSD ignition, etc.).

Also considering putting AC in the car. It’s HOT in STL for like 1/2 of the year and I sweat a lot... another reason I tend to let the car sit.

Any suggestions for must-have updates or mods for the car to make it a nice street/occasional strip/track car?
