I know that this forum has an unbelievable amount of Mopar knowledge within it's walls. I'm just hoping to use some of that knowledge to find out exactly what I have. Particularly, i'm curious as to how many TB3 Demon's there were in 72. And also, does anyone see something jump out as being different on the broadcast sheets that would explain the "Special Handling" callout? I will gladly take any information you guys can tell me. Aaaannd go!

"Special Handling" referred to the traction bars...just kidding. Handling could have been a sway bar or extra leaf. That's a nice ride !

First, there are no 'gurus', no one is all knowing.

Second, 'Special Handling' had nothing to do with the suspension.

Can you get a scan of the sheet with the clearer details?

The 'late' comment from the sheet behind the glove box liner is interesting, can you get a photo of your Mylar door sticker & post it?

Ya, I know that it wasn't suspension related. I was under the impression that the "Special Handling" callout was used as an indicator for the assembly line that some combination of colors or options was different than usual. I'm not sure why the uploads are so crappy... the pictures are clear as can be until I upload them.

Haha thanks! the traction bare are gone now. They were on there when the car had Cragers on it, but didn't look appropriate when I went back to the original rallyes

One of THE latest and most loaded Demons I have ever seen. A few interesting codes on the fender tag, haven't decoded the broadcast sheet yet, but very cool car!

I thought a "special handling car" referred to extra buffing and polishing that was done, like for a car that was going to be used as a display in a showroom or at a trade show or something. Maybe I have that mixed up with something else...

As for the production #'s by paint color, the only thing I've ever seen was a breakdown by percentage for the high impact colors, but it's not a complete list. It doesn't include '72 Demons at all...

High Impact Color Production % #'s

Thanks! I feel pretty lucky to have stumbled into a survivor car like this. I'm starting to think there can't be more than a handful of cars left that are still in their factory Basin Street Blue paint.

The only Mopar "Guru" is Galen, According to Barrett Jackson,,,,,NOT….. Nice Ride BTW.

Good luck getting Galen to respond, though. I've been waiting 4 months just to get an email response. I've heard of people not getting any info from him for over a year

No special Y codes noting any type of special order, or buffed paint etc.

No '99' codes of any type for special order tires, wheels, paint, etc.

No V08 or V09 code for a 'non-recommended' combination.

I mentioned it earlier, but nothing suspension related on it is special either.

The 'Special Handling' on police cars & other fleet orders came in due to stuff like painting the doors one color first, then masking them off to paint the body another color, 999 paints, etc.

Nothing in this cars codes shows anything 'special'. It is not marked as a sold car, so it was not likely ordered via a client at a dealership.

Very cool car though, it would be a fun ride with the 340, 4-speed, Sure-Grip, power disc brakes & manual steering. :)

Thanks for looking into it! It is a dream to drive, and I couldn't be enjoying it more.

I will have the opportunity in a few weeks to talk with the dealer that sold it, and although I doubt he remembers this exact car, there's always a chance!

Ask him if he might still have the Advance Dealer Shipping Notice or any other invoice from the factory.

They will occasionally have codes not typically found on broadcast sheets.

Only a year... LOL You would be so lucky. Galen is a waste of time and money except for the auction crews. :)

Awesome car!!!!

Alaskan_TA I would like to ask you a question. It won't let me start a conversation with you. could you contact me? thanks

Just thinking - it was such a late in the year build....could be it - get this one gone someone was saying - does it say "sold car" for one of the codes ?

No Y code on the sheet to indicate a 'sold car'.
