yup, it's a pain. at least you have a vin on the body to tie the dash vin to. my 68' just has a sequence # that is also on the fender tag. i had a guy who verifies cars come to the house and do it.
if you do the trunk lip, it can possibly be done without messing up the paint. find the location from below and use a single edge razor to carefully cut the glue. you should be able to get it and re-glue the weather strip
