Best pic I have of the fan and shroud right now.
Cope , after reading through all the replies and ideas and seeing your shroud set up, I have come to the conclusion ( my own Opinion) . That some of us have no Idea what we are doing and some know every thing about everything!. In my past experience I have never had any problems with my car running to cool (except in the winter and getting not enough heat from the heater). I like to run all my hot rod , race engines and even my damn /6 van cool as possible. The engine will run up to the temp it likes, provided the cooling system is adequate. I have had to just throw out the thermostat on one to keep it from over heating, that some say you can't do that. I have never F ed up an engine by running to cool, Too hot your sitting on side of the road like old faithful at best. Now after seeing your shroud setup If every thing else is in good shape looks to be one sided. But I'm with Steve on this one , The first (cheapest) thing I would try is a lower T stat. Before tearing apart your shroud. Besides cooler engine= cooler oil. But with all that said I'm probably wrong again. Damn it.
