So I bought the car in red primer more than 6yrs ago. Never really cared for the look, and I finally did something about it. Don't beat me up too bad, as I had no intention of making the car nice. I just wanted it to be crappy original color instead of crappy red primer...

I don't know about everyone else but I think you did a great job. I'd like to see some more pictures but it looks good. It's OK to have a car that is vintage with a vintage color, I like it :)

And I did all of it in the driveway, with $100 worth of paint and tape. It's not a good paint job by any means, but it's perfect for the car. Besides, I daily this thing year around, so body work and nice paint would be a waste of time and money!

The local paint shop will do single stage custom mix rattle cans. I used six cans in the factory "JJK" paint code, which is called "light turquiose".

whats was cost of matched spray can? My shop says $40 if I bring in the color swatch...never asked about coded paint.

Mixed those ,when I did paint for NAPA, six cans ,covered that sweetie?

It's single stage base/clear, not tinted primer. And six cans did a light coat over the entire car. I wasn't going for full coverage, I want it to weather and patina fairly quickly.

the factory colour looks mint..doesnt matter its a 20 footer...looks good in pics...Im a huge fan of body colour rims and caps...

I like it, and I miss daily driving mine, did it for 7 years

Looks good for a hop in it any time any place and drive it any where car. I hope you plan on leaving the front bumper off. I love the look of the early A's with no front bumper.

I like it!. I wanna do a quickie paint job on mine too. Just to clean it up a bit. Also like the idea of a lil patina. What size wheels and tires are those?
