Trailer tires - what are you running?

-
Think my 5ver is going away. 2015 Dually paid for in less than 3 years and only 9k on the odometer. The $680 payment is gone and the wife wants this to replace The Montana 5ver. What are these tires going to cost down the road? Least it is a 400 Cummins with Allison and should be fine to pull the car hauler as well.

Thankfully she absolutely wants to keep the Dually!

What size are they?

Can tell if they are 19.5s or 22.5s. If i had to guess id say they are a 225/75R19.5 but hard to tell in the pic

Typical 22.5 tractor trailer size all six!

What size specifically? Typical semi tires are 11R22.5 but those are deff shorter and skinnier. They may be like a 255 or something but they are deff low pro 22.5s

Ill look for ya tomorrow at work, if im not mistaken thats a michelin only size, the 295/75R22.5s are the same height

They are Michelin at the moment and look fine, but?

Yeah im thinking thats a michelin only size, ill look tomorrow, i have a app for one of our tire distributors and when i type in that size it pulls up 295/75R22.5

Michelin makes a few odd sizes that only michelin makes, ill look for ya when i get to work in the morn

Even if ya had to go to the 295/75R22.5 they are the same height and will gain you 10mm on both sides in width, so look at the gap in the middle of the rear duals. If you have at least 1.5” of clearance between the sidewalls at the closest point youll be fine, there should be plenty of room

Ok i looked, Continential HSR2 and Michelin XZE2 are the only thing we can even get our hands on at work

Just to give you an idea in the 275/80R22.5 these would be retail price per tire including mounting

Continential HSR2 $550 each

Michelin XZE2 $620 each

In the 295/75R22.5 which is a little wider but same height as the 275/80R22.5

Yokohama 101ZL $420 each

Toyo M122 $375 each

Continential Contiecoplus HT3 $530

Bridgestone R197 Ecopia $600 each

Honestly the Toyos would serve you just fine.

Not sure how my pricing is compared with local shops near you but our prices include mount and new valve stem, balance is extra and 99% of the time we use balancing bags, they are $10 a bag. Also your only 2 hours from me, if i am quite a bit cheaper and youd be willing to make a trip let me know ill fix ya up!

May do that down the road, we finalized the deal and pick it up next week, so the 5ver will be sold. I was thinking 400 to 600 each.
