Sneakin' towards the finish line

Hey Ron -
I wouldn't put any effort into a floor display other than possibly a carpet to put under your car.
Inland Mopars purchased dark grey carpet portions for four individual cars several years ago and have been using them for our annual 4-car display at GNRS. I'm not quite sure what we're going to do this year for a 12-car display.
The "AMBR" (America's Most Beautiful Roadster) award contenders go all out with their floor displays, but those are 7-figure ($$$) builds. 99% of the cars at GNRS do not have a floor display other than a showboard.

i know itchy probably has enough trouble with the steering wheel on his '68 being on the wrong side and what not

The upholstery has started, foam has been cut and shaped for the back seat, the back forms are in, and the front seats are partially covered. I'll get some better pictures next week. I decided to do the car in leather, the cost was not a lot more than vinyl.

Here are a few more pictures of the on-going upholstery, it is really looking good, the pictures don't do the work justice. The insert section is a diamond stamped relief.

Here is another rear seat/interior picture and one of the trunk buffed out. Upholsterer tells me the car should be done next week.

So how was your day?
Took the car to Sacramento Autorama this past weekend, the pictures kinda tell it all. Had to tape the gas cap per the fire regulations.
One last story for all of you. I'm standing in front of the Dart talking to an old friend and a fellow walked up and complemented me on the car. He looks at the engine and says, what engine is it", (the Hemi covers are there for all to see). I said "it's a Gen 3 392 hemi". He says, "so it's a small block", I said, "no its a MOPAR Gen 3 Hemi. He then says, "so it's a big block"? I said no, its not a small block or a big block, Its a MOPAR Gen 3 hemi". So then much to my disbelief, he says" so it's a small block with fancy covers"? I repeated the hemi line and he says "so it's not a Chevy"? By then my friend was howling with laughter. I gave him the Gen 3 Hemi line one more time and he walked away.

So to close this out, the Dart won first place in the semi hardtop class, I got this honkin' big trophy for my living room and I'm still smiling.
