WWEELLLLLL... lawn mower is still running strong.
Im gathering parts not for a 451ci (4.375x3.75 and a 400 block) I got a really good deal on a crank and pistons, just have to get rods.
After months of going back and forth between NA stroker, big, small, and gen 3... I made up my mind when a friend of mine gave me a ride in a 67 camaro with twin 58's and a 5.3 LS. Unreal the power and how tame it is. The days of high compression small blocks and 50mph in the slow lane are coming to an end. Ive been on theturboforum, and there is a guy with the 71 B5 blue dart over on the west coast of FL, im going to try and copy his engine build, but do a front mount S480... freakin killer build and runs in the 9's. drive it there and drive it home. I like that!! Ill start a thread next week when i roll the 72' duster into my shop.

2618 and the type of rings make a big difference. the 2618 wont expand under heat as much as the others.
also some piston companys will sell pistons as 2618 even if they are not. so be careful who ya buh from. mables is a safe place. they built to exact needs. as pic below. anodized amd coated beast of a piston for example in my engine.
also piston pins...upgrade tool steel at a minimum andif yoh can get them coated its a bonus.

I thought it was the other way around 2618 expanding the most and the 4032 containing more silicon making it expand less but more brittle? I went with the 4032 pistons because of that. With no boost or spray and a good tune I think they will be longer lived and won't have to listen to piston slap while warming up.

If looking at a turbo setup the 2618 is a given IMO.
