Why I hate offering a car for sale:
1. If it was not too far away
2. If I just had the money
3. If my wife would let me
4. Winter is coming on, will be too cold
5. Summer is coming on, it will be too bot
6. I have too many Mopars already
7. Will you trade for my Gremlin?
8. I just bought one yesterday, half the price of yours. was uncle Neds
9. That's a great price, but wrong color
10. Can't afford body work, can't do it either, but, HOW do I know what is under that paint?

I understand some people do not like the "beakers", but, no engine, so it will require one, usually one to be rebuilt to what ever NON smogger specs a person desires . What slows people down is cost of shipping for those guys back East that desperately need a rust free solid project. They do not want to pay shipping. There might give $1500 for the car and another $1000 to ship, maybe.
NOONE can really tell anything by pics! , rust? dings? dents?
For even a good roller and that year, many people will say TOO many $$$$

Fact is any car that does not run and drive is severely hurt at sale time. If a guy looks at a roller, the price needs to attract him.

My opinion is most project cars are over priced compared to what a "done" or somewhat "done" car will generally sell for with the owner doing bout all the work. I know, it is a HOBBY!

Feebay? Start it at $2500 and most people will think that is just his starting point, he expects it to bring bunch more, and his reserve is up there higher too.
Personally I have no use for cars selling on there. Too much a circus, and you are buying blind.

A 73 318 AC car in my area spent about 3 weeks on craigslist, listed at $2500.
Not a Gold Duster or a Space Duster.
It was an FE5 red car listed as not running. It had a mostly solid body but had the somewhat typical Duster quarter rust from the lower rear wheel area curving around to under the tail lights on the pass side...and the paint was faded to pink.

There is another still up that appeared at the same time. This one is a /6 car also not running with a worse body, listed at 3K. Doubt that one will go for anywhere near that, but the first car looks to have moved.

It looks like a great car to start with and the price is decent.
The days of $500 rust free Dusters is well behind us, guys.
I would throw a decent 318 in it, fix the bad spots in the interior, and drive it as is.
The paint is actually decent IMHO.
If you can do all of the work yourself and aren't picky, it would make a great little driver.
I actually like the ''beaker'' cars, so that's not a concern.
For under 5 grand and a weeks work, it would be on the road and being enjoyed again.
And a bit over a grand to have it shipped?
That's a bargain if you really think about the time, effort, and money it takes to do rust repair etc.
What's stopping me from buying it?
My priorities are with building what i already have now, and i am seriously resisting temptation to buy another one.............
 
The Feebay deal? I rather buy a car off a real car guy, a member here, or a member of one of the many Mopar sites on FB. Someone I can talk to over the phone, someone that I can size up as to what kind of a seller he is, a car guy or what? does he honestly answer questions or is he vague or stupid or whatever.
I hate selling a car, too much drama, BS, .. I love the hunt for a good car at a reasonable price, working on them, driving them.
I admit at age 70 I am bout woreout and done. The car my wife loves is our Toad and it needs a ton of work to get it on the road.
Wish she loved one of the other 2 that are close to done!!! Probably will have to sell one of those to finish the Lancer! ha

The car in the listing isn't a Space Duster. No fold down rear seat.

The rest of it I agree with, it's a very solid looking car that would make a great project for someone. I think the fact that there's no drivetrain is really hurting it. If someone was local it would be a great deal, but having it not be able to move under it's own power, even for a short distance, complicates the shipping.
 
Dang. That's the second time I've done that.

I looked at the pic of the back seat and saw no arm rests.

Yeah no arm rests, but no fold down seat either. You can see the full package tray and the lack of any of the fold down equipment in the trunk

Also, check this out. Fold down seat, with arm rests. :p

I could tell it didn’t have a fold down seat in the first photo where is shows a full rear package tray with speakers in it.
 
I am within spitting distance of that car... and can't afford it.
 
cost about 1k at least to ship it to the mid west area..... so now it's 3500 with no motor/tranny... interior looks poor condition. Still, if it was in my area, that baby would be gone in a heart beat for 2500

I knew I'd start a revolt with that statement. So, 72 and up are desirable to many after all. Funny thing is, that was the rule of thumb when I was growing up.

Even funnier yet, is the California Special Mustangs that were known as smogged down sleds back in the day, are now being advertised as are uber desirable performance editions. LMAO!

Times sure have changed. Thank God modern cars are high performance again, some even more so than before.

I agree it is great modern cars runs like a striped *** ape!! Now I am way too old to afford one!! ha

Funny thing is as I go back 70 years personally, and back in the eighties when the muscle car craze really started, ANY mopar except the "choosen "ones were not sought after hardly He could not fin a buy and needed a few $$. at all. First Mopar I bought back then was a rust free totally original 71 Charger RT, wing, hood, 7's ralleys, BUT the PO had JUST pulled the original 440, sold it off, and dropped in a good 383. Great car but back then even with great paint , interior et, was worth maybe $1000 and few wanted it!! FEW!!! Had to be a 70-1 E body, 68-70 B body, with hemi even better,...anyone want an A body 340 Duster, not that many wanted even it....? Few unless it as a "rare" car/ ha...

The hobby is way better off today, because people can appreciate all years and models, resque them and put them back on the road. Sure some people turn up their noses at a beaker, and some people turn up their noses unless it is a big block E body,.. but so some are people and the hobby!!! Some (MOST!) would turn up their noses at my 62 Lancer slant car!!
 
Auction ended with no bids...…..now it's relisted at $1995.00 starting bid. I'm afraid to bid $1996.00, because I ain't in the mood to drive to AZ to get it!

Figure what it costs to get it delivered to you and add to that what price you want to pay. The total you have in it when at your home is the figure. Then just message him on feebay and tell him what you will pay if he wants to put it on there at a buy it now price.
For example, I see apart I need and to ME it is worth say, $100, the sell has it started at $300. I just tell him what I will pay if he wants to relist it at my $$ but it NOW deal. I will pay MY price, not his. He may not accept my offer, but many times they will, because it is apparent they will not get their price!!!!!!! Other wise screw it.
