Whats the consensus on valve cover gaskets?

Poontang? I want some!, whatever it is. I used Fel-Pro with a very thin smear of Permatex silicone just to hold them in place on the factory Formula S valve covers. I tightened them to spec, something light, like 15-18 INCH-POUNDS. I have pulled the covers off to do a valve adjustment without replacing the gaskets, never have I had a leak after reusing them.
