thanks again Brian, and excuse my ignorance. only decimal for volts and I thought it would auto down as well as up, but it doesn't. you have to manually set the decimal only, no numbers to set in the volt setting. again, you help was immensely helpful, thank you for taking the time to help a dumb old carpenter (if you ever need any help there, that I know, and willing to help).
