Isn’t the only substitute for cubic inches ,more cubic inches ?
NO, more RPM"s can make more power. In fact when the limit for racers were 305 cubic inches, nobody stroke the motors and used smaller pistons, they de stroke them and spun the motors to 8,000 RPM's
I like to see 2 engines race together, one a 390 with a 5,500 RPM limit and the other engine, those old 305's with a 8,000 RPM limit.
Bet the 305 would make more power and lower ET's
Now how would both engines be on the street, ah, the 390 would be the better street engine.
