Supercharged Non-Stroker vs Supercharged Stroker

I'm trying to decide what would be the best route to take, building a non-Stroker motor and using lots of boost or building a Stroker motor and running not as much boost. The goal is 800hp. I have 4 blocks to choose from 3, 400 blocks and a 440 block. I'm going to sonic check them and what ever one is the best I'll use. But does anyone think that one way or the other would be less abuse to the block? I don't think cost will be all that different between Stroker vs Non. Mostly just comes down to IF one would put less stress on the block. Thanks for any input.

less stroke and less RPM will make a block live longer. But ive just witnessed TWO big blocks NA, granade from high RPM and not even beat that hard.
One was a MEGA block, the other a Hemi World block. Both 540ci range.. Both windowed the blocks. BUT... both were shifted near 7500RPM most of the years of service they put in.

NOW, Ive also witnessed a stock 360 bottom end, single turbo go mid 9's and live a long happy life until it pushed a head gasket. Still running now in my buddys dart... but he shifts it at 6200 rpm and no signs of cap walk or anything. My 2cents... keep the RPMs lower, higher gear, and solid tune up, and you will have more fun that anything plus boost noises!! Im getting parts together for my 451 ( 400 stroker) with a single 88mm S480.

Either will make any car a handfull, on the street.

my question is, whats your budget and how are you putting this new found power to the ground?
 
Id run stock stroke and boost. Less rod angle with a stock stroke. Your choice, destroked ran higher RPM's in displacement regulated classes, lots of short stroke 5.0's running boost and low ET's. Plus when you frag it, stuff isn't custom stuff to replace.
 
Budget for a blower motor? Is that even a thing? Just kidding. I would go stroker plus boost! You don’t want to get it all together only to wish you had more power

assuming (ya, i know:rolleyes:) the stroker = more cu inches, go stroker.
 
You're buying an aftermarket crank anyways, what stroke you put to it doesn't significantly effect price. I'd suggest 512 cubic inches, 4.25" stroke, as that minimizes RPM, which is the true stressor of parts in the engine, assuming you have adequate oiling/cooling/clearances/etc. I should stay stress in a properly tuned and running engine. Detonation is the most common killer, from poorly tuned engines, either clueless and/or too aggressive. Aluminum main caps and studs are a very good idea. People argue all day long about girdles, my opinion is that it can't hurt. You're getting into "let the magic smoke out" levels of power. S/F....Ken M
 
I am on the fence about aluminium main caps. Do they hold up to street use? Are they something that needs to be checked frequently?
 
Running a turbo with my previous RB motor, big displacement, low-boost is a great way to go about making power. Don't even consider it without EFI for a street car, just my opinion.
