Last year the No Problem race I ran my best time of 10.39 at 126 mph. The engine has all stock specs. Its a 340 with stock lift and compression. It runs nhra stock class.

My car currently runs 11.20 with a 1.50 60 ft at 117mph.
Trying to get into 10,s. My engine uses w-2 heads with a .650 roller cam.
Please post your entire engine and car chassis combo.
I am trying to see what area of the car I need to improve.Stroker combos
are welcome as well as stock stroke too.
Please help me attain my goal.

Thanks

What is your engine HP? You are running the exact same Mph likr I have.
Would like to have an idea of my 410 build engine Hp.

It is factory rated a 295. On Dyno it has around 490 hp.with 340 cubic inches. Flat tappet cam with stock lift, stock intake and carburetor.

How much torque are you making?

Update: we ran a 10.01 Wednesday night 1.382 60 ft times with a full tank of gas and a significant head wind, through the mufflers. We were at 10.16 best the last couple trips to the track and I installed a 1 inch blend spacer. The spacer is the only thing I changed. On the first pass which is almost always the slowest it ran a 10.06. That is a tens better than is has ever run with no muffler on a Cool morning. It sure seems to like that spacer. I removed a 3/8 four hole, so maybe it didn’t like that one.
We ran a 9.89 and we're told to slow it down, because we aren't licensed ect to go faster than 10 seconds. We weighted the car down a 100 pounds, but still did 9.96. After tinkering with it to get it to go faster, I am kind of lost now. I guess I will concentrate on my r.t. and making the car more consistent and 10 teens or 10.20. It's a lot cheaper to make it go slower than make it go faster though.

67 Cuda "383" S. H code car. Now with a 440 and good internals. Best ET: 10.58 @ 124, more common runs in the 10.70's. It has a 10.97 pass with two people on board!

What size tire and gears ? Looks like it`s twisting a fair amount !
Nice car !!
ET Street. 325-50-15 "R". Dana 60- 4.10. And yes it looks twisted! A good reason why I do not race this car very much. It is too nice to hammer all the time. but I couldnot resist. I was invited to a free track rental just prior to a race. The track was very sticky!

subframe connectors ? That's the only reason I installed a 6 point cage w/ connectors, I knew it would twist the body if I ever got it hooked up, "which I haven`t!"

727 trans with adapter plate, k frame needed to be notched but I have since gone tubular k frame, I had to build the headers, crank adapter, motor mounts, its a lot of work and if I had to do it over I would just build a nice big block, but there is a neat factor in having a nascar motor in a street car, it is definitely fun, and the dry sump oiling kicks ***,

Where did you find the adapter plate for the transmission

Nick, Good question, but, in the future, it would be good to click on the screen name of the person your trying to reach and see when they were last here when your looking at an old (date wise) post. This is what I found;
"torkflight was last seen: Oct 3, 2016"
It may be possible to get his attention by making use of this symbol, @ and then typing his screen name. It will look like this; @torkflight
This will bring attention to him on his alerts.

I finally tickled the 10s (equivalent) in the 1/8 mile. Best ET two weeks ago with a 6.90@105MPH and a horrible 60'.

32×14×15
I will take more photos at the track this Sunday and post them.
Car was originally built by a gentleman from Long Island and was a big block 9 second car. Still has the parachute mount and actuation cable from those days.
