I need some plug wires for the 408 I am building .
I prefer premade and black.
Running headers so I want stright boots. Probably going MSD 6AL2 at some point if that makes a difference . But using stock mopar cap.

Any input ?

I think from a performance perspective, the least ohms resistance is better

what about fitment ? Correct length for a smallblock ....

Anyone find a brand that is better than others?

Firecore 50 been running them on my 416 and 360 for 6 years no issues what so ever!!

Taylor wires are silicone good boots spiral core. and LEAST resistance(ohms) per foot
Dont buy into the fancy adds about puff the magic dragon wires

Common auto parts store black 7 mm are fine and will fit stock grommets.
...but you didn't want to hear that.

Yea I just use MSD 8.5mm wires. Black but I make them custom, I bought the MSD wire crimp tool.

I'm pretty sure that Firecore is about the only one making a good plug wire that is cut to length.

I've been screwing around with this crap for a long time and I've never seen a pre-fit set I didn't think was too long for my tastes, but I haven't seen a set of Firecores. They may be fine.

I prefer Mallory wires, which you can get again, made by the company that originally made them.

About 6 months ago you could get Mallory ceramic boot plug wires for 48 bucks a set. I should have bought 10 sets. Now they are about 100 buck or so and you have to cut them to length.

its more the fit I am asking about. Obviously I want a good performing wire but Im not under the illusion that there is a magic wire out there... MSD ,Taylor etc... I will check out the new Mallory set.

I have to agree with Yellow Rose on this.
Don't think I have ever taken a set out of the box and had them fit (length wise) the way I wanted them to.
It's a given that I'll have to cut them down whenever I get a new set.

Recently I did another set for my car that are Dragonfire 10.2mm and I had to take about 6 inches off each wire.
BTW, that Roadkill idea of using zip ties for wire separators works pretty dang good.

Firecore are cut to fit and fit just right..

I went with the Taylors .
Thet have performed well on my last few motors and have a stockish look. 350 ohms is pretty low
