The time has come, I have been told, to reduce my inventory of spare parts. How do Canadians, ship parts to the USA? I have never sold anything, online.

I bought a part from a Canadian. I arranged shipping from my end and had to fill out customs forms with the shipment. ROYLE PINA.

BUT if you get a nice person at your post or Fedex or another shipper they can help you through the maze of questions on the forms. Not sure what the new tariffs do to the process.

Good luck

I have shipped LOTS to US, Europe and Oz. Always Canada post. Shipping within Canada for larger stuff I have used Greyhound. I've never heard of anyone buying from me having to fill out any forms at all before receiving parts.

I made all the arrangements for shipment here in the US. Maybe sending out from Canada is easier then here in the US

OR

I was misled on what I needed to do. I used FedEX.

Yeah couriers are a little more detailed....what did you get? A large item? Anything I sold I did the legwork and 99% of the time ez pz

Back to OPs question...

What do you do and what forms do you fill out?

I ship a lot using postal.
The forms are super simple to fill out. Even a monkey could do it.

Write the address and return address. Fill out what's in the box.
Put the value of the parts
Sign your name and date.
Pay.
Then leave the box and go home

Seldomly I use UPS
But again very straight forward.

I live close to a border town so on occasion I jump across the border and have been known to ship from there. I usually let the purchaser know that is happening and pass the savings on to them. I never charge for the tolls or gas to get to said town.

I've shipped worldwide, Canada Post seems to be the best. But like dodgedifferent2 I live on a border town. It's a quick jump across the bridge to Detroit and have shipped large items from there.

OP: No harm trying to sell locally using Facebook Groups or Kijiji. You'll likely to find a lot of A body guys in Southern Ontario willing to pick up in person.

You are close enough to the boarder, drive across and ship it from Niagara Falls. Use the USPS web site to get an idea on pricing. I also use US address on Witmer rd to have packages shipped to.

Well 7' long is why. Max.length thru Canada post is approx 3-4' (I cant remember exactly)
I fill out 1 shipping label(declared value on it, "used classic automotive part" as description) my address and receives address. Total time is 2 minutes.
Hope the trim made it in good shape?

I'm local to you. I'm always looking for stuff and know several other guys throughout southern Ontario looking for stuff. Send me a PM and maybe I can help out.

I'm in Canada, never had an issue shipping worldwide. I've used Canada post.

What are you selling?

i have sold worldwide for 25 yrs. Big stuff, unless its rare will be cost prohibitive for the buyer. Big stuff like engine blocks ect I have a broker for and use truck freight but everything smaller i use Canada post. fedex and ups can be a pain with paperwork. i normally dont sell big other than locally.

you can do your customs forms on Canada post, https://www.canadapost.ca/cpotools/apps/cdc?execution=e1s1

get a canada post discount card. it really helps. Shipping discounts for small businesses | Business

good luck.

Thank you for all the replies. Truth be told, I don't want to get rid of anything, since I might need it someday. For those taking stuff across the boarder, doesn't US customs cause an issue? Whenever I drive across, first they ask about fruit and vegetables, and then they ask, if you will be leaving anything!
