Edelbrock S.P.-2P. 318 2V Does it even exist??

That I can't remember. But I remember that intake sitting right in the way in a cluttered up shop. I even remember the layout of the office. Why he had it laying on the floor I have no idea. His name was Leo. If I think hard enough I'll think of his last name. **** everywhere in that place.

Geezer.

Why would anyone want a 2 barrel version? A 4 barrel will get better mileage every time with careful driving.
I believe it would be inexpense. Just an intake swap. Not an inatke, carb, air cleaner, throttle linkage ..... swap.

I suppose that would be the only reason......but compared to a stock intake, I have to wonder about the benefit.

The guy has 3 different year model years NOS Carter 2 barrels to choose from. I believe mid 60s, a 69 automatic and an early 70s.
To me, a good choice would be a 4 bbl. intake, like you mentioned, with one of those aluminum Holley model 4360, 450 cfm carbs. Anyone have an idea what list number is correct for a small block MoPar? A Holley catalog in the late 70s would have the answer.

Use the small primary TQ. There is an aftermarket version with the Mopar linkage and a electric choke. THAT, would be the carb to use on the 4bbl. version of that intake. Use the thick OE style carb to intake gasket.

We think alike! I was thinkin either the smaller TQ like you said, or the Eddy 1406. Either way would work well.......but you caint beat the sound of the TQ. LOL

I'll hear your TQ, and raise you a Dominator!

Incidentally, is the small TQ primary 1 3/8" diameter?
I think I have a couple 1971 340 carbs sitting around.

The intakes were designed for stock 318 trucks, intended to increase torque. They did do just that.

Not sure how old you are. Popular Hotrodding mag did a Monte Carlo with the 4bbl SP2P. Got 21mpg. It will starve a motor if you let it. I ran an Offy 360* Dual Port on my van with a Comp RV cam grossing 7000lbs+ for a long time. It was a 318 spread bore version on my 360. Separate runners for the primarys, and separate for the secondaries. It is 2 single plane intakes in 1. I could have port matched the intake to the heads. Gobs of fun with a 2200 stall converter.

Just now saw this thread. I've got one of those edelbrock 2bbl intakes sitting,g in my basement right now for a sb mopar

I think they will accept either the big or small 2bbl crab, you just use the 2 bolt holes that line up. Seen alot of old Chevy 2 2bbl intakes that only used 2 bolt holes, one in front, opposite one in rear
