Who likes such ,and why ? Turbo muffler s suck ( shrieking, in mid range resonated)
Flow master ,just is like living in a tuna fish can...
What's your story, Morning Glory?....

I too hate the tink tink of the flowmaster. They sound like buckets. Turbos plus a resonator 'S' style.

On my 89 Shelby Dak with mildly built 318 (alum hds, comp roller cam, eddie performer, FITech, 2-1/8 HP Cast Exhst, 347 hp @ flywheel, a-500, 2400 stall, 3.91 SG). Started with Flow Master super 40s - everybody outside the trk loved the LOUD rasty sound- inside couldn't carry on a conversation even with the windows up - cab is WELL insulated. Added Flow Master resonators in front of mufflers - smoother sound but resonance in cab between 1700-2400 was close to painful. Changed to Magnaflow dual 2 1/2 to 3" single out (stealth look). Sweet low rumble - sings nicely above 3000 - can talk and listen to radio even with windows open.

Flow master makes lots of different mufflers, each with their own characteristics. Getting what you want is determined by which you choose.

Agreed. Like many enthusiasts, I thought I wanted an aggressive sound, but I underestimated both the noise level and their STATED presence of cab resonance. They are very honest about the noise and resonance levels - don't dismiss/underestimate their descriptions - it was an expensive mistake.

My brother has magnaflows on his 67 408 barracuda and it sound good at low rpms and sounds like a stock car at higher rpms.
I have 2 1/2 flowmaster 40 series on my 413 duster and it sounds awesome! I've never experienced this crazy drone everyone talks about? I don't know maybe i like my car to sound like a muscle car....

IIRC the drone is caused by the pipe dynamics. Ie. if you have no pipe out the muff, it sounds terrible. There was some formula out there that took exhaust duration and header/pipe diameters into effect and told you where you could terminate the exhaust (add expansion/muffler) 'between events' for no resonance. sort of like painting your collectors and flanging them where the paint burn line ended up.
