Indy Heads Gen3 swap, MSD timing questions

I have that same intake, just on a 5.7. I had similar issues when I was running a carb as well. It just would not transition from cruise to power on a quick hit of the throttle. I could roll into it, but couldn't stab it or it would fall on its face. I fought and fought with carb settings, but ended up getting a Megasquirt fuel injection setup cheap and went that route before I got the carb sorted. I would look toward that over the timing though. I'm also not sure how much faith I put in the stock maps MSD has with their kits, but I guess I don't have a dyno to prove it. I ended up putting in the closest thing I could get to a factory timing map in my car (converted the base table to the two graph MSD setup as best I could) with a few degree reduction across the board (because I don't have knock sensors) since I know that's what the engine was designed with. Been pretty happy with it, but I know I'm likely leaving something on the table.
