An elderly neighbor needs a 7 1/4" axle for her car. Does anyone in the SF bay area have a parts axle from an 8 3/4 swap, or from a broken ring and pinion? I can drive local to pick up the whole rear assembly, or just the drum, and axle shaft. I think up to 1972 should work, its the left(drivers) side but i don't think it makes a difference.

I might have one. Can't remember if it still has the axles or not. I will check tomorrow and let you know. I live the bay area too.

They are different length, by about an inch-or-so, you will need the correct side...

She has a 1965 Dart, needs drivers side axle shaft. Thanks for the info guys.

Sorry the one I have is missing the left axle and the drum. It does have the right one but no drum. Drums are available from Rockauto if that is the only option, for less than 30.00.

I have a complete 7 1/4 I’ll be removing in the next 2 weeks. I’m in San Jose.
