Awesome! Now its time to enjoy all your hard work. Going to have to take mine out for a ride on the weekend.

Thanks qkcuda!
Also thanks for following the build and your great advice that got me out of a few jams. Great to have people like you and others on this site that are willing to help a guy out.

Cheers!!

At Last !!

Video of Supercuda finally going home.........

Thanks to all on here for the great comments , tips and help along the way !!

Great A-Body Site!!

Beautiful car. Gorgeous color.... I think I'm gonna cry a little. Congratulations on an excellent job!
Thanks DJC !!

I got it home last night and after everyone was gone, I just sat there and stared at it for about 15 minutes . Still can't believe its finally finished!!

Now you're ready for the Targa Newfoundland!

No Targa for me qkcuda!

Here's a driver putting an Enzo into the ocean just outside my hometown of St Johns during a Targa race!!

BTW... Avatar change!
I had to change the pic as I really wanted to use this one..
That's me on the left and my friend John Best on the right , the guy who did all the body work, paint and helped with the reassembly of the my Cuda. Real reason for this pic is that John was the very first person to show me this car back in 1977 !! 41 years ago ... only fitting that there should be a pic of us with the car now as he was the one to help me restore this car back to what you now see. Man, life sure moves in strange ways!

Great job and I'm very happy with the results.

Hey Guys,

Just an update on Supercuda's break-in progress...

Ran into a few more electrical issues including an orange box that failed (big surprise LOL ) , Replaced it with a Blue 7500 Hi-Rev unit . Found out all about matching the proper coil and ballast resistor as coil voltage with a cold Dual connector Ballast resistor dropped to 3.5 volts and car ran lousy. Switched to Mopar Hi-performance coil and .8 ohm single ballast resistor and it works great! now 6.5 volts at coil cold and 8.5 hot.

Also ran into a self inflicted problem with the Air cleaner assembly. I wanted to run a stock unsilenced 13 " air cleaner assembly on the Magnum engine to give it an early LA engine look but it was too high with the Airgap intake and holly 770 Avenger carb so I used an aftermarket lower profile base plate to drop it for hood clearance. Problem was that there was very little clearance to let air into the carb at the underside of the top assembly so I was choking off the engine when I got on to the accelerator . This resulted in a foul running engine that ruined the plugs . Lucky for me, Mancini Racing makes a proper base plate for my engine combo that drops the air cleaner just enough to clear the hood. See below.

This worked perfectly and cudo's to Mancini who took less than a week to get to me here in Eastern Canada
in approximately 7 days via USPS !! My Canadian sources couldn't do it that quick!

Anyway, hope this is of help to someone else.

Now... back to driving and sorting the car out.

Cheers!!

Cruising seasons almost done!

Great day to have ole Supercuda out for one last run. Went out with my brother (2007 Shelby GT 500 696 hp ) and my friend Milton. 2018 Dodge Demon (800 + hp). We did a fairly long run with a lot of twisties and believe it or not the Cuda held its own! The guys were really surprised at the way my car handles for a 50 year old car. Much cudos to Reilly motorsports for the great suspension. As well, the car only weighs 2600 lbs now after the diet I put it on and the acceleration is awesome!. The engine is making approx. 500hp and runs really smooth but is very thirsty. If I were to do it again, I would go with a crate 392 hemi. Also , the 3.91 suregrip is a bit too much for the street . I see a 5-speed Passon or 3:55 gear set in the future. As always, any suggestions would be welcome.

See pic below.

Thanks R4Sedan,

Very happy with the build.

Great to hear the cuda's running that well. I agree they are thirsty though. Reminds me that I have to take mine out for a run before the weather turns here. A gear vendors overdrive might work as well. Still can't believe you got the car down to 2600 pounds.

That is a good tip on the air cleaner base. I noticed an issue with mine starving for air at the race track and made a second top, so I could run the element wide open. When you think about it that half inch gap around the bottom is not a lot of area.
