** NEW ** Trick Flow LA cylinder heads introduced at SEMA

-
I called the 888 number and asked the a fella whats going on with them, he told me that they are waiting in the foundry for the castings for mass production, any day now... I asked him if the revised the ports from what they released at SEMA and he said they did! good news i guess? End of november he said they will be in the stores for purchase.

cool, i like the intake. Always thought about a Strip Dominator, but the spread bore flange was a disadvantage to me. Anybody got some pics or data from the final heads?

Michael

They aren't up on Summit yet. :BangHead:

I just wonder if making these now cross-compatible between LA and Magnum, if quality of fitment or tolerances will be compromised. I don't know enough of the differences to have an opinion.

Win Win in my book.
Cheaper to make, and easier to sell, when you move on to something else.:thumbsup:

I had sent them an e-mail inquiry a few weeks ago. I asked (based on the original release) about making a kit to allow the shaft LA head to be used on a Magnum block. I suggested an engineered oiling kit with correct restrictors so a regular Joe could easily use that head, as most of us would prefer a shaft system. They asked me to call back after the SEMA show, guess I know why. Still curious as to how oiling is achieved as that head seems to still be a shaft system without stud mount provisions. (at least that I can see).

They are going to have Harland Sharp make special rockers for Magnum

Btw..... heads now wont be out till March/ April timeframe

Via the same system the OE used and in between the rockershaft stand area is a machined flat for use with Magnum rocker systems. The head will have a OE - LA oil pathway for the shaft system and the Magnum is pushrod oiling.

Doesn’t EQ have 1 head drilled two different ways for each? This has been done before DQ with the MP replacement head designed in this manor. 1 head, two different machining process’s for two heads, and part numbers.

History gents! This has been done 10 years ago.

Ya but the intakes between the LA and magnum style head bolt on different.

The EQ uses either manifold but only magnum rockers.

Hence the reason I added “without stud mount provisions (at least that I can see)”. You see, I’m saying there that I couldn’t see the machined flats for Magnum rockers.
And for some reason, I seem to want to run a shaft mount rocker system. I understand that pushrod oiling isn’t going to work for a shaft system, thereby prompting a request (or wish) for a way to oil a shaft system on a Magnum block.
The other option is that I just may be off my rocker.

Well I’m not waiting for them till spring... anyone do a build with the CNC pro max heads? I just bought a 4 inch crank and I want to have an engine built around it for next summer.

Same boat as you. But gonna wait to put this topend on my 418 shortblock that is together already
If the Trick stuff keeps getting delayed i will snatch the eddies off my 360 and make do with them for the time being
