Spend an extra few hrs taping, and seal the engine compartment to the floor.
If you have any doubt that over-spray will get on it, most likely it will.
I'm not worried about the radiator area, but the hood gaps around the fender and cowl when the hood is bolted on. I think the foam weather stripping for houses is the ticket.
