Just got a 70 Dart / 440 with a Paxton blower and electric fuel pump. Previous owner said it had to have an electric pump due to 7 or 8 pounds of boost. I guess that's true. But I don't like the noisy sound that the pump makes. I mounted some hard rubber chair leg pads between the pump and frame, but that didn't help much. What kind of rubber do you use to quiet down the pump , or is there any other way to do it? Any other methods anyone has tried? Thanks

Common problem with the older style Holley pumps.
I fought this for a long time with no luck.
I understand the new style and in tank pumps are very quiet.
Good luck

Thanks! I noticed when it isnt bolted to the frame, its fairly quiet. So going to try and find a way to isolate it, or do a float mount in some way.

You can probably find something suitable here :)
McMaster-Carr

Don't forget that hard line, or stainless braided line, can also transmit a lot of noise to the body. I can't really hear it much over the dual 3" exhaust anyway:rolleyes:

just make sure to ground the pump if you end up isolating it that much. A good frame ground is a safety thing

It needs a ground wire if vibration-isolated properly anyway... putting a slab of rubber under the pump doesn't do much good if the bolts are rigidly attached at each end to the pump and the frame :)
