If anyone would appreciate this picture....

In 69 we had just come back from living in Athens Greece for 3 years. We were driving from Tidewater VA to our families homes in South Carolina. My dad pulled into High Point in our 67 Chrysler New Yorker looking for gas or food. We drove by Southern Chrysler Plymouth in the dark and I think there were two Superbirds on the front grass under the flood lights! Man what a sight for a 14 year old kid! I will never forget the impression on me, what a great sight!
Southern Chrysler has been closed for many years now. I have been searching for one of the dealer plates they had on all if the cars. I would like to put it on my 65 Barracuda

For a finned car I gotta go with the 62 Dodge Dart. Way too Cool and too rare I miss mine.
Sorta why I like my 62 Lancer. I would love another 62 B body but hard to find a project all there!!! Think I will go after a 66-7 b body, they are still dirt cheap but poor repop qtr sheetmetal!

Great pic! What is the newest model there?? I need the magnifying glass! I do see a 64 Ford Galaxie/

Ah life was a simplier, slower time....unless someone was sending you draft papers!???

How you like dat? People at a car show and don't even know it. The newest I see is a '64 Ford.

HA! I got my driver's license in '62!!!!!!! My first ride was a 49 chevy next a 64 ford custom,,,first fast ride I was given, in a 64 409 Impala.
Back in 65-6 a kids mom actually loaned me her 65 sport sat. , her horse trailer, and a h.s. girl friend would haul our horses to a show maybe an hour down the road!!! Talk about trusting!!? (But she owned part of that small town Chrysler dealership! HA)
Simplier times. One reason us "older" people get such a connection to this stuff.

yikes- in my youth I owned those exact year cars in the foreground...falcon (mine was 2 dr) , corvair, and rambler.... yes, they all were awful

...made up for it since though!

I sometimes like to take those old photos and colorize them. I like how it makes them come alive...

I decided to colorize the first image in this thread. It was exceptionally challenging to do with all the details that had to be painted by hand, but I finally got it done.

I learn a lot diving deep into those old images to colorize them. This is what I learned about this one...
