Can anyone show me what the screws and fasteners for a '68 Cuda rally dash look like?
When I got my car the bezel was pretty trashed. I purchased a reproduction that doesn't fit my instrument box very well but I think I can make it work. I'm now ready to install the bezel and the bag of nuts and bolts I got with it don't look right. I looked in the service manual and I can't find any pictures or descriptions of the fasteners. There are 4 larger holes in the top of the bezel with corresponding threaded clips in the dash. There are 4 smaller holes along the bottom, 3 right at the edge and one a couple inches up by the wiper switch. If anyone has a drawing, part #'s or pictures I'd appreciate it.

HI,
I have a picture and a partial part number. I purchased these from Mr. G's enterprises. part number is FA4936....something.
All holes take the same screw.

Thanks for your reply.
That looks like what I was expecting for the lower screws, but the holes in the top of the bezel under the dash pad have a much bigger hole. Is there a clip or something that goes on the screw?

Yes, the large top row of screws. You probably are missing the sheet metal panel on top of the cluster. Those special screws (4) go thru those large holes in the plastic panel and attach the sheet metal support to the dash.

nice catch Murray lol.
verified site, Mr. G's Enterprises - Auto Fasteners
In the fillister head section of "fasteners" Part number FA 4936 C $0.60 8x5/8 Fillister, Chrome
I called them and had my screws within a week

Forgot to mention that the lower four screws go directly into the dash, while the top four screws use a clip.

Also that top sheetmetal plate should fit into a groove in the back edge of the plastic instrument panel lip to hold it up in place when the sheetmetal plate is screwed up into the dash. My aftermarket plastic instrument panels plastic lip didnt have this groove for the sheetmetal, i had to carefully cut the groove for the metal to fit. The aftermarket ones dont fit exact, but if your patient with it, you can make it fit and work. I have moved the dash screw clips a little to make them line up as well. Take your time fitting it. The rewards of it finally fitting right are the best feeling when done.
