:rofl:Good ole Mopar Marvin. We know who his fans and haters are now. We know who the narcissists with OCD are too ! I learn so much, LMAO ! !:icon_fU::drama:

**** how about if you read between the lines of his opening post, notice how he wants to give the rotating assembly back but keep the block? How about he wants reimbursement for NEW pistons and rings? Maybe he thought is was too obvious n so he left the crank part out?

Is this guy trying to capitalize on his loss by turning it into a stroker on burgo's dime...?

Lol'ing as this unfolds...

OP back. I wanted to clear up a few things.
- Rick is more than welcome to having the block back, with the pistons and crank, and everything else I'm not using (cam and lifters, too; see below).
- I paid between $3-4 for the rebuilt 340. Reusing the heads on the 360.
- Rick sold it to me with the single plane intake. I had the dual plane intake swapped by the mechanic.
- Biggest misconception I want to clear up: Rick never said, or identified in the ad, that this was a drag motor. I have the original For Sale ad that would verify. I would have walked if it said that in the ad.
- Rick didn't know what the cam was. I know, stoopid OP, why did you buy it then? Cuz Rick told me that it was not a crazy lift (but that it was a Mopar Purple Stripe because that's what he specced). No, I don't have an email that backs that up.
- I bought a new cam with a profile that matches what I've done to the car (3.55 SG, slightly warmer torque converter). Rick can have the mystery cam and lifters back, too.

Not gonna address your opinions of me, my decisions, the mechanic, etc. And I'm not trying to keep the thread going. But it's amusing to see the replies.

And for those of you who'd never sell me anything, its your prerogative. But if you love Rick, I've got a 340 block, crank and pistons to sell you that I'm sure he'd be happy to autograph...provided you paid him $0.60 per mile to get to you :thankyou:

Yeah, clear as mud, thanks.

So, giving you the benefit of the doubt and assuming a typo, is it that you don't know what you paid for the engine, or are you being coy about it? Depending on the valve gear and any other work done to the heads, you may have received fair value for your money. You're using the rods, too, right? After a year, you want money refunded?

More info, good to know, price not clear, who cares though.
So it's still kind of fuzzy you're saying if you knew it was or weren't a drag motor?... because it sounds like if it was a drag motor you didn't want it but then you turn around and say the cams too small for what you're doing... Again never buy a built spec motor that you know nothing about for full price. Not knocking or bashing... Just that you got fucked and kind of helped it happen.
As for Rick Ehrenberg... What a desperate sob to try and get 4K for some old basically stock cam 340 this been sitting for years, total ******* joke this is

The World Mopar court is about to hand down a verdict, a clear case of BULLSHIT.
You have a problem with a purchase, take it up in person with the seller, keep it off the web.
I've heard enough and I rest .

I don't have any stake in any of this , and I don't really care because I build my own engines but I do have just one question,,,,,
was the damn thing beautiful or messed up the first time you opened it up?
we have a claim it was jewelry and a picture of cylinders walls that look like the grand canyon
so which is it ????????
this is getting kind of annoying.
I was originally behind the OP but now I'm not so sure. I agree too much time has passed. if I opened up a motor that looked like that I wouldn't wait 5 minutes before throwing a tantrum and looking for answers

All he needs is a hone and pistons, chances are he can lighten the next size up like I've done a million times.

But I would never pay 4k for a 340 rebuilt stock, I can do those for about 2700..
So a big fkn X back at ya!!

Ps anyone carrying a "guru" title can kiss a lawn apple while in mid decent from a horses ***. There are a TON of people I know who make that guy look like cooter , a lot of them on here. I'm not impressed and i dont give a damn if you dont like my opinion of the guy.

Now hit the delete on this piss match and send this op to small claims already.

How come nobody ever pulled the oil pan off before buying it? Can't you see the bottom of the bores that way?
I'm glad I don't believe in name recognition. Ehrenberg? Who cares. I guess everyone needs a hero. I build my own sh*t, even if I do it wrong.

Not that my opinion really carries any weight, but regardless of what I think about the OP or Rick, the absolute refusal to identify or consider possible mistakes or foul play from the mechanic is ridiculous. The OP immediately drags Rick's name through the mud because he feels that he has screwed him even though he claims the bores were fine when it was purchased and when the mystery mechanic checked it, but he refuses to even name the mechanic or discuss him at all. I've got no allegiance of any kind to Rick, but that is fishy and I think if you're going to start angrily pointing fingers you should at least consider everyone who might deserve to be pointed at before you do it. It sounds to me like, no matter who is in the right or wrong here (and it seems entirely possible that everyone involved could fall into both categories), the OP had his mind made up before he even contacted Rick about the problem, possibly though the influence of the "mechanic" who somehow ball-honed bores from pristine to pitted in a day. At the end of the day, everyone here is giving you their opinion on the situation only as you have presented it, and selectively withholding information isn't a good look for you or your case.

I still have that 800hp small block that looks like a junkyard fresh, bone stock 5.2 magnum, if the op is interested.

I guarantee the cam is exactly what his application needs, too.
