I need a couple mufflers ultracheap. Thinking about going tomorrow morning with my Sawzall and checking some of the trucks and older Vans to see if anybody had some cool dual exhaust. I was wondering if anybody had any luck with something like this before? Thank you..

why do that? just go to Autozone/Advance, get them for 20 bucks. You'll pay close to that for used junk at a yard

13 bucks plus tax each here.
Brand new glasspacks at Autozone are about 22 bucks and mufflers around 30 each.

Just looked, they are priced at 17.99 here for thrush glasspacks each.

Junkyard mufflers usually are rusted out or damaged. to save 4 bucks, its not worth it

Wherever la la la la is.:D
But yea, close enough.

The yards here usually have some good picks. Almost every mustang has Flowmasters. Most truck have aftermarket duals also. $10.86 + a 1.75 core and tax. Depends on you sound preference.

The "Raptor" mufflers from Oreillys are super quiet going down the road and sound good out the back when you stand on it but drone HARD at idle and around town.

I have a couple 2.5" flowmasters for $100 if you want them

This is pretty much where I was at. I have long glass packs on there now that have been long burnt out. I put the less radical cam in so I just wanted to be quieter. I don't mind losing a little horsepower for the street I got 10 times more than anybody should need.

I have an electric sawzall with some worn-out metal cutting blades. I have a tank full of gas in my truck. I have a welder with lots of flux wire. And I have time. Now may I share you with you my budget? I emptied out my wallet on the bed.

remember it cost $2 to get in! I'll need to check the console in my truck LOL
I'd rather not wait and save money to get something different I just want to get it done while I have a couple bucks and time.

No sales tax in Oregon...
Just the 10% environmental fee.

I say do it, when you win your first race with them, rub it in by saying "Yeah and I got junkyard mufflers too!" Lol. I like the junkyard, You never know if your going home with something or not.

Ok, just a "tad" over your budget, but I've used these before and have them on both Dusters now. They flow good enough, don't annoy the cops/neighbors, and don't really drone in the cab. these are normally about 48 bucks apiece, but this site sells them for 25 each. My 2 cents

This is more for my preference. Now that I put the new cam in it's already half as loud as it used to be. But now it sounds more like a truck with a broken muffler. :(
The old cam used to crackle like a dragster LOL that I could put up with...

Drive the SCRAPPER to a muffler shop and ask if they have take-offs for free and wear your Walmart clothes. Do it right.

Dang man, if you lived around here our local Mopar group would soooo hook you up.
Between the 6 of us we have tons of extra stuff laying around that we are always giving to each other when needed.
One of the guys got given a complete 8.75 with 3.55 gears for his car.
I think he got ripped off because it's a one legger.:D
Another one just got his sun faded black accents redone by some of us for his Birthday.
We bought all the paint, reducer, hardener and accessories and I sprayed it with my 6oz Eastwood gun.
The twin scoops were taken off for the new paint.

Junkyards charge admission these days???
Does the price include all the "free" fuses that'll fit on your pocket?

Then again, I suppose you're lucky to have yards that let customers go "out back". None of 'em that I know of around here do anymore. Not that there'd be any A parts anyway...

Man we are in the same boat Haha. What size inlet do you need? How many mufflers you need?

2 bucks a person here for an all day pass weather you leave and come back or not.
Here small stuff they will give you because you paid the 2 bucks.
Nothing in there older than early eighty's, but it's great for disc conversions, non stock rear ends and stuff like that.

Although I did get a like new Edelbrock 600 electric choke for 50 bucks along with it's chrome air cleaner, and an Edelbrock dual plane small block intake for 60.
