I'm putting my D/Dart back together and am about to install the Inland shifter. Are there any shims/washers that go between the spring clips and rod ends? I noticed that there was one in my baggie of parts and one still attached to the back side of a lever. If there are shims, does anyone know who carries these shims? They might be called wave washers.

I bought my ‘66 from the original family. It passed from Mom to son, then to grandson. Had over 100k on it. There was a mismatch of hardware holding the pressure plate on, so I know something was changed at some point.

My Inland shifter had some wave washers in the linkage. When I put everything back together, I largely ignored what was there and concentrated on decreasing the free play in the linkage. Not sure if this helps you, my two cents.

Might call Brewers Transmission, he may have some thoughts.

Thanks for the reply.
My 66 is the same. Someone took it apart and used whatever they had to put it together again. The shift rods had 2 different washers on them. I think there should be 6 total. Plus they used 2 cotter pins instead of the spring clips. The washers are about 0.040" thick. About half the thickness of a regular washer. Couldn't find any info in the service manual or parts book.
All the rods seem to be tight. Shifted real good before I took everything apart..

Which D/Dart?

My latest acquisition. Actually got it in April of last year. It' was the one that Dana owned and was from San Rafael Dodge. Number 26 of the 50 built. Has a 360-380 hp crate engine in it .

When I was a kid, the Inland shifter was un-cool. They were one of the first things I replaced, what a fool I was. Now I want nothing but what was present when the car rolled off the line with.

Hardware like what you're looking for, can be found on Mcmaster.com. You'll struggle to find something that they don't have...but it won't be OEM

Thanks. I'll have to check that place out. The washers /shims are about half as thick as a regular washer. I'm going to check with Brewer also.
