I have one in my 67 Dart 340/904. I don't use the controller box; a simple push button on my shifter controls the OD solenoid. When I run 1/8 mile 2 gear OD is perfect with 4.10 gear and 28 tire.
Yes it is perfect for the 1/8th ; I have a 3.09 low and 3.55s. I used 2 splits and 1 pull to hit 93@ 6150, in second over. I use 3.09-2.41-1.92-1.50; splits of .78-.80-.78 . That controller was mega-slow. And the S cruses at 65=2240
