Well...we usually go to Bakersfield to a Mega Mopar race...they moved it to the 1st weekend in Nov...which is great for some good air. But Famoso Raceway changed the format to Super Shitty Weekend with a Manufacturer cup for fords and mopars....they are only timed runs with closed to an index to win money...No Thanks
So we are looking at running at the ANDRA race two weeks later and run the hot rod class....which is the middle of Nov.....hopefully the weather will hold..
Working a rebuilding a 904 for the dart ...had a previously used 904 in storage...pulled it out...thought it had a low gear set but it does not. Upgrading from 4 disc to a 5 disc front drum. Need to take the pressure plate and have it surface as I only got about .035 clearance....i want .070. The machine has done at least 4 of these for me....grind the pressure plate.
putting new disc and steels...the bands look like new...replace the lip seals, a few bushing...front pump seal..and away we go....
And I thought this was going to be a quiet off season...

Well...**** happens..dam......Finishing putting this 904 back together....got the clutch pac back together after getting the pressure plate cut...got .068 clearance...bought one of the fancy billet rear servos...everything good to go.....I had noticed that the rear cooler port has the aluminum fitting sheared off....ok...no problem...take a bolt extractor be done in a few minutes...but everytime I use one it breaks off.....and yes...it broke off...going to go get a good drill bit tomorrow see if I can drill it out too....****

I got a few ..but I like the 72 and newers ones.....have not looked in shed yet....but I think they are the older cases....going to try and drill it one time tomorrow....LOL
Took the bare case to machine shop today....as I was dropping for a block and asked if he preforms miracles....showed him what i had....he said leave it here....I think i can fix that...beside the owner was looking for a 360 crank....oh yeah...i got a couple....

picked up a bunch of parts from machine shop...heads for 340 six pac....freshly machine 360 for 408 in Demon...and they could not fix the 904 case...
so I got a 1300 dollar torque converter...600 dollar transbrake sitting here in boxes...need to find a case......on the look out for a 72 and newer case....

Looks like we are down to one car for this weekend Street Car Nationals at the strip....youngest daughter said no way...that race never ends...I said...I am not taking two days off to sit around all day....Oldest daughter said she has vacation time to use or lose.....So I will haul her car out to the track......not making any changes to the car....
