6 Speed

The console is an 1 1/4" back from the stock location. I turned the shifter around from the rear location to the front just to keep it closer to the stock location.
I didn't like the Tremec shifter at all too long a throw and very hard to shift 2nd to 3rd gear so I swapped it out for a PRO 5.0 shifter ( I know is a Mustang part but it works) it works much better the only thing is it's about an 1 1/2" taller than stock and if I had known that I would of raised the console a little as well.
Somewhere in the lost forum world under the manual transmission section I did a write up and there are lots of pictures of what I did to make it work.
The car is a 67 Barracuda with a 446 Stage 5 Hemi conversion engine and 3:91 gears.
The car had run 11.29@130 Mph with the automatic in it and a set of drag radials, now with the 5 speed 1st and 2nd are a waste of time with that much gear. If someone wants to get frisky I just leave in 3rd gear
But before the swap I could only drive about 85 miles on a tank of gas and now I get a little over 200 miles on a tank but the best part is the engine runs a lot cooler without the big tranny cooler in front of the radiator.
I'm going to swap out the 3:91s for a set of 3:55s to make better use of 1st and 2nd gear plus improve the gas mileage some more
