My Duster was stolen

OP, you need to remove what you have written about the updates..... In life you never give an opponent a club to hit you over the head with..... Seriously, you are doing some good detective work so don't put a speed bump in the road.

Good luck and I hope this works out for you.

Most likely in storage waiting for "the" day

Well I just received a call from the detective in North Carolina regarding my stolen vehicles. My Ford Pickup truck was found two hours ago at a scrapyard in North Carolina. Someone tried to scrap it and it came back on a hot sheet as stolen. According to the detective the motor, trans, bed, fenders, doors and wheels were stripped off the vehicle all that remains was the cab and frame.

This was the truck

No the vehicles were insured when I left for California but I canceled the insurance because my stepdaughter was driving the truck and she was not authorized to. So my loss.

The scrap yard will have the persons ID that sold the truck to them.
Go after them.

It's stories like this that helps me understand how I ended up with my Dad's duster. I cringe for you OP and wish yyo luck.....

so I see posts number 88 today and I search back and see my own post hoping that I wasn't mean because now I have all the information of what the hell was going on. When I look back I can see I kept questioning or thinking there wasn't some information here. And post 88 has it all and now I'm much more sympathetic for the cause. Best of luck and very sorry for your losses..

My Duster has been found!!!! The detective called me this morning and let me know that he has found my car in a storage unit somewhere in North Carolina. He said he found the person who purchased the car and that the person "paid a lot of money" for the car. As of what condition it is in, I do not know. The detective is still investigating and has told me he will contact me shortly. Now it is a wait and see. I still believe that my stepdaughter sold these vehicles illegally but that's all the information I have as of now.

i get that
but id like to believe if someone pays a lot of money for something, they will take better care of it then if they spend near to nothing
specially, if it was bought in good faith and the buyer thinks he owes the car

fingers crossed

I hope so. I'm nervous as to what has happened to it.Apparently he could not get a title for it and this is how it was traced.

well, if he wanted to title it, sounds like he wanted to drive it
again, sounds promising

but i understand, how long has this been going on?
the truck was totaled, but you can hope, right?

So glad the car has been found. Sounds like no matter what condition its in u will b glad 2 have it back. Lets hope its good. And i hope whoever is responsible gets held accountable

Hope its still together, and those responsible face the consequences.

I am pressing charges full tilt on anyone and everyone who is involved in this. Remember there were two other vehicles involved in this besides the Duster.

I hope the duster comes back to you in the same or near condition you last saw it. Wishing you the best
