How to prepare for engine dyno?

Does the supersucker work by increasing airflow or by helping with fuel atomization?
If it is airflow it would most likely help FI.

I ordered a knockoff supersucker for 30$. Lets see if it works...lol

Looks like a knockoff. THat's nothing like a supersucker design. HVH supersuckers are reverse ball milled.
 
How does the ball milling enhance the flow ?

I can tell the HVH is tapered from bottom to top more than this knockoff.
 
We tried three different carb spacers made from two different materials on my 408 when we dyno'd it and made no appreciable difference. My engine guy had them lying around so we thought we'd give them a shot.

Did he have a Super Sucker? My dyno guy keeps them in stock and said most people that show up without one leave with one after they try it on the dyno.

I'm not sure about the flow but it increases the plenum volume. It also helps, or at least can help with fuel distribution issues.
 
my plan is to blend the bottom to match the intake plenum thus tapering into it.
We will see...
Its easier just to buy the real one but fun to tinker.

None of them made any appreciable increase in power vs not running one at all. My AirGap intake is gasket matched and some light porting work was done to the heads. Carb is a 800 cfm Edelbrock Thunder series.

Nice! That means the engine didn’t need any help. The intake has enough plenum
