Got this image off a competing site but it cements the fact that if everything is drilled to 1/2" and you don't remove the core plug to drill UP TO the tappet oil galley one might as well not do anything.
Well, except mod the pump pickup side and prevent the pickup itself from ever becoming uncovered.
