can anyone tell me if the taillight housing on a 1971 dart is the same as a 1970 dart, housing not lenses, thanks

This is a 1972 as a reference.

As far as I remember... no. 1970 had one long lens. If you used the bumper jack it would crack the lens. So in 1971 they went to the two smaller lights and housings as listed by 72Dart6pack. Now if you want the 1970 style housing it is the same as used in the Plymouth Scamp up until 1973. But the lens is not the same in the Scamp. All aftermarket lenses I have ever seen are of the 1970 Dart style. Oh yea... 2 door I assume?

Thanks I have a 71 dart swinger and want to convert the rear to a 70, but can’t find housings listed anywhere!

Housing is not reproduced. You have to find used. Post a ad here. Someone has a set. Going price is under $50.

The Dart housing was used in the Scamp until it ended production, so there are quite a few around.

I don't know for sure but the tail panel may be different between the 70 and 71.

The tail panel is the same just the bumper changed for the split lights.
And I love the color of your car! :)
