I have watched all his videos and they are all pretty good and anyone who is a real Mechanic and hot rodder can relate and learn something from him

Welcome to "Torque East " , and 1980's "Cars Illustrated " magazine ...
Known as "Whitepunkonnitro ",here....I'm 51 ...and still love his back to basics ,no B.S. attitude Rainy Lady...

Another "bunch" you might check out when you get time....just for fun, is the series on the "Surfers" dragster. These guys did more with less back in the day than almost anybody

The Surfers Reconstruction

Bill Pitts

Nice post ,Del ...Mike Sorokin ,(son of the main daddy of the Surfers...) made it deep in elimination rounds at Famoso last week...

I subscribe to his channel too. That was the best video yet. I have bought parts from him in the past and he seems like a good guy!

I subscribed because I hope to get the free FU&%ing Pizza one of these months ….LOL

Build it for the right reasons.
I fixed a lot of cars backyard style.
Finally have a decent shop, too busy to build my car.
Cars. Actually its cars.
I deserve a nice car, after a lifetime of fixing everybody else’s junk.
Low budget is my motto.

That guy is me in many ways. For many many years I just conked togther, swapped parts with other guys, searched swap meets, used old parts and parts that came on the cars. Hence one of the reasons I like the OE Carter offerings and know my way around a TQ. People would laugh at me until they lost the race with “That ThermoBog garbage” and factory intake.

Today, some money has been freed up and some extra expenditures have been made. (But not yet in use.) looking forward to there useage.

I’ve never had a really done up ride. Always rust buckets (very popular here in the North East by the way....) but there cheap and effective to get going.

He is right. If your not doing it for the love of it, just to ride in an old ride, learn it yourself, your in the wrong game.

God bless ya if you can check book your way into a flashy ride. I never could and probably never will be able to unless I win lotto. (I should actually play the danm thing!)

Dammit Robert ,you don't need flashy ,the 80's stuff is dead ..LETS GO FUNCTIONAL,AND QUICK...

This guy has got it right. If it ain’t fun, there is no point in it. IMO
My Duster is my first hot rod, first project car after decades of working on other people’s cars. I don’t have much $$ but I’m not looking for flash. Just safe, reliable and fun to drive! She ain’t perty but she’s mine!

Back to basics, on a damn budget...
I tried to Pm you but the inbox is full.
That Batman pic looks like it is from that episode where he is running around trying to throw the bomb someplace safe but each place he intends to throw it, somebody is nearby. He says..."Somedays you just can't get rid of a bomb".
That was campy but funny as heck. As if this is a problem that anyone else encounters, right?

I still say if life ain't got some fun in it, it is a total waste!
If I went out and wrote someone a check for a NICE car, I would not be able to sleep at night. If I did do such, and FLIPPED it the next day for a profit and bought a project to work on, them I would be back sleeping at nite!!
I finally ordered the Velosity channel on our country DISH tv BS,. I enjoy the very FEW ones where you actually see someone doing real work, no drama...... and they give 3 times what a project is worth, have 6 guys working on it for 3 months, then flip it for some idiot price!! ha The more I see some guy with $$$$$$$$$$ spend all those $$$$$$$$$$$ on restoring a friggin car the more I get a bad case of the ***. (Southern phrase, and it ain't good!)....... Glad for them they can do it.
I say smiles per mile. and grins per gallon. Some things don't cost a million zillion dollars!

LOL! I see. Well, I spent some money on a few sets of bitchin heads (I think) and I can step up in the power program. But that’s about it and I’m not quite there yet. I’ll be figuring out body and paint one day soon.

Still waiting on my freaking 340 on the cheap build to get a clean bill of health! Grumble grumble....
