I think the concept is ok, but the execution could be better. Running the red band so close/onto to the wheel opening lip wasn't a great choice. Personally, I would have rather seen it cross onto the door than try to jam it into the space on the fender behind the wheel lip.

I'm with this, and additionally IMO it could be at least 30 to 50% wider at the top edge of the fender, folded over the top and the front edge continuing at some shallow angle a bit further forward to join up with the hood, while the rear edge immediately takes a 90* off the fender to the hood. At the bottom definitely landing somewhere in the first quarter of the door.
That might give it an "at speed look".
