Honestly- on the older cars where the bumpers and grills are painted... I cant see the stripe all I see is "cheap."
I know re-chroming is expensive- I know- just re-chromed the grilles and bumpers on my 66 Barracuda. Not cheap,
But paint where chrome should be... to me (again my opinion only) looks cheap on these older cars that the designer had lots of chrome in mind when designing them.
Out side of that I kinda like the stripe this way... Lord knows there are way too many 64-66 Barracuda out there with the same damn stripe.
Mine WAS a factory stripe car and I chose a diffrent route to be diffrent. That particular stripe looks like a person with limited striping skills laid out the stripe after the paint was on and with Home Depot supplies.
From 20ft away it possible looks good.
